Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson - born Jacqueline Luesby to Chris Watson and Jacqueline Luesby, two British lawyers, was born on the 8th of July, 1989 in Paris. At the age of five years old, she moved to Oxfordshire and enrolled at the Dragon School. Emma was inspired to become an actor by the age of six. Over the course of several years, she attended the Oxford Branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts part-time school. She learned to sing as well as dancing, and also acting. Her performances had been in several Stagecoach as well as school plays before she was ten years old. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) was the movie adaptation of J.K. Rowlings bestselling novel was first cast for first time in 1999. Emma was initially discovered as a casting agent by her Oxford drama instructor. After eight consecutive auditions, director David Heyman told Emma and other applicants Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint that they had been selected for the roles of the three leads Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Emma's first screen appearance took place with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone's release in the year 2001. It beat all previous records for the opening weekend and revenues, and was the most-recorded 2001 movie. The film has been praised by critics for its film, as well as the performances by the three young actors. The Daily Telegraph, an influential British paper, called Emma's performance "amazing". Emma was later awarded five prizes in recognition of her work in the movie.
